Toddlers - Toddling Turtles

Ratio is 12:3

Our Toddler program is all about growing your toddler to their full independence.

Toddlers learn about the world around them through play and observation. Your toddler will enjoy learning and growing through the many activities that we have to offer, such as:

  • Bible stories and Christian songs
  • Exploring their senses
  • Large outdoor playground
  • Dramatic Play
  • Sensory Art Projects
  • Literacy development with lots of age appropriate books
  • Colors/Shapes/Sizes
  • Play with Numbers
  • Music/Rhythm
  • Story Time
  • Language Development
  • Creative Movement/dance
  • Block Play
  • Manipulative toys to promote fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination

As a ministry of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church the Christian beliefs are an essential component in the care that we provide. Beginning with our littlest lambs, we believe in teaching Christ’s love. Our toddlers are read Bible stories, learn easy Christian songs, learn that blessing occur at every meal, and are taught about God’s beautiful creation in all that they see.

Learning how to interact with other children is a big part of each day for toddlers, but they are also busy discovering a lot more about themselves, too. Our approach enables children to gain self-confidence and independence as they grow.  Our teachers plan activities that are designed to enhance your child’s growth and prepare him or her for the next stage of development.

We keep documented assessments on your child’s development. We develop weekly lesson plans to introduce new activities and learning experiences. The lesson plan is posted in the classroom and will be on our website soon.

Every day, your toddler’s teachers will provide you with a written report. Our daily report includes:

  • Your child’s eating, sleeping, and diaper-changing schedule
  • Special moments reported by the teachers throughout the day
  • Any notes from the teacher

Our caring atmosphere along with our consistent daily routines will leave your child with a sense of security.
