Daily Bible Verse

Matthew 5:43-45
“[Love for Enemies] “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”

As a ministry of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church the Christian beliefs are an essential component in the care that we provide.  Beginning with our littlest lambs, we believe in teaching Christ’s love.  Our toddlers are read Bible stories, learn easy Christian songs, learn that blessings occur at every meal, and are taught about God’s beautiful creation in all that they see.

Learning how to interact with other children is a big part of each day for the toddlers, but they are also busy discovering a lot more about themselves, too.  Our approach enables children to gain self-confidence and independence as they grow.  Our teachers plan activities that are designed to enhance your child’s growth and prepare him/her for the next stage of development.

We keep documented assessments on your child’s development.  We develop weekly lesson plans to introduce new activities and learning experiences.  The lesson plan is posted in the class room.

About the Twos' Teachers

Hi. My name is Ms. Chris. I have worked here at ORWS for seven years and in the church nursery for over four years. I have worked with children in a school setting for well over ten years. I went to college straight out of high school knowing that I wanted to be in the education field. I originally thought I wanted to teach high school math and I did for a year, but then quickly found out that it was not what I truly wanted. Then I felt called to work with small children and have been doing it every since. My degree is actually in math, but I have a strong core of education classes. In my spare time I enjoy reading, making jewelry, and going to the beach. I live in the Colfax area with my roommate and my two wonderful cats.

I have worked in the child care profession since 1994. I have taught children toddler aged through prekindergarten. I took time away from work to be a stay-at-home mom to my two beautiful daughters Kristine (11) and Georgia (9 ½). I went back to school in 2004 and graduated from Guilford College in May 2006, majoring in Geology and minoring in Integrated Sciences. My children, two cats, one dog, and myself reside in the quiet, friendly Bethany community. During my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, learning Karate, watching Carolina Hurricanes Hockey, Tarheel basketball, and drinking a wonderful cup of coffee. In addition, I love to draw and read science magazines. I look forward to working with you and your child.

I'm Allie. I go to school at GTCC where I am a freshman majoring in Early Childhood Education. I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with your child in the afternoon.
