Daily Bible Verse

Matthew 5:43-45
“[Love for Enemies] “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”

  • Exploring their senses
  • Large outdoor playground
  • Dramatic Play
  • Sensory Art Projects
  • Literacy development with lots of age appropriate books
  • Colors/ Shapes/ Sizes
  • Play with Numbers
  • Music/ Rhythm
  • Story time
  • Language Development
  • Creative Movement/ Dance
  • Block Play
  • Manipulative toys to promote fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination

As a ministry of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church the Christian beliefs are an essential component in the care that we provide.  Beginning with our littlest lambs, we believe in teaching Christ’s love.  Our toddlers are read Bible stories, learn easy Christian songs, learn that blessings occur at every meal, and are taught about God’s beautiful creation in all that they see.

Learning how to interact with other children is a big part of each day for the toddlers, but they are also busy discovering a lot more about themselves, too.  Our approach enables children to gain self-confidence and independence as they grow.  Our teachers plan activities that are designed to enhance your child’s growth and prepare him/her for the next stage of development.

We keep documented assessments on your child’s development.  We develop weekly lesson plans to introduce new activities and learning experiences.  The lesson plan is posted in the class room.

December News

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! This is the time of year that we celebrate the most precious gift given to the world, Jesus Christ. I get excited about the spirit of Christmas and giving. I love the smell of fresh evergreens and baking cookies, and the sound of Christmas music.

Last month we enjoyed making edible turkeys, pilgrim hats, paper and edible jam sandwiches, shape collages, letter dot art, and playing math games.

Our themes for this month are: Christmas Around the World, Secular Christmas, Happy Birthday Jesus, and New Year’s.

This month we will partake in many crafts, Christmas caroling, and cooking projects. We will have lots of fun!

We will do a gift exchange with our birthday party for Jesus on December 20th. Each child should bring a new wrapped book (about a $5 value) for this activity. Please have all books in by December 16th.

We will focus on the letters K-N and the numbers 1-4. We will focus on the colors white, red, green, and purple. We will focus on the shapes crescent, square, oval, and circle.

Our Bible stories for this month will be: An Angel Visits Mary, Christmas Around the World, Baby Jesus is born, and The Shepherd’s Visit.

We welcome our new friends Brent and Tasker.

Reading bags will resume after the holidays. If you have not returned your reading bag, please do so as soon as possible.

Please remember to bring in your family collage!
