Daily Bible Verse

Matthew 5:43-45
“[Love for Enemies] “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”

About the Schoolager Teachers

Hey Parents!  My name is Aaron Pannell.  I am 22 years old, and love working with kids.  I am looking forward to working with your child this year.  I have been working with children for seven years now, and I hope to see each child succeed in school.  I have worked for 4 years at the Spears YMCA as a camp counselor, and I have also worked as an afterschool care teacher at Center United Methodist Church for three years.  I am studying Early Childhood Education at GTCC. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Hello Everyone!  It has been a pleasure to work at Oak Ridge Weekday School for the last year and a half.  The relationships that I've built with you and your children have truly enriched my life.  Being a part of your children's lives and spurring them to grow as individuals has proven to be challenging, meaningful, and very rewarding!  I am glad to be a part of such a great team of educators at Oak Ridge Weekday School!

Over the past year, I have watched my love for kids grow into a passion to teach.  I did not have this career path in mind when I began college in the fall of 2008.  But, after working at Oak Ridge Weekday School and volunteering my time at Stokesdale Elementary, my eyes have been opened to a rewarding career!  With that being said,  I will be returning to school in the fall to pursue a degree in Education.  Aside from my education, I have other passions that I would like to incorporate into my classroom.  Having pursued my Eagle Scout Award and being registered as an Assistant Scoutmaster, I believe it is safe to say that I love the outdoors.  Scouting taught me the benefits of working with a team and how to manage one.  Along with the many values and skills, Scouting also taught me to "Be Prepared" for whatever life gives me.  These are the same universal values that I aim to teach your children.

I hope to positively impact every child that comes through my care.  The rewards from washing paint-covered tables and bending down to un-knot countless numbers of shoes pales in comparison to watching children grow and seeing them learn to make good decisions.  Spending time helping  your children to develop into moral, upstanding citizens is my goal at Oak Ridge Weekday School.

Parents, I thank you for all you do to support your children and our work at Oak Ridge Weekday School.  With your cooperation, I plan to make this year the best yet!  If you need to contact me with any comments, questions, or concerns, please feel free to send me an email at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. January Newsletter

Well, the holiday break is over and we are getting back into the swing of things for the New Year! We have a few teacher workdays and holidays this month, so be sure to mark them on your calendars as full daycare days! Make sure your students come to school well dressed to go outside in the cold. It is supposed to be in the 30s some days! By law, if there is not active precipitation, we are required to go outside for at least 15 minutes in the morning and evening. If you have any further questions, you can ask your child's teacher. Feel free to donate items to your child's class this month. We would love toys that are no longer played with, Halloween costumes that are too little, and movies that you no longer watch or have the VHS for. Have a wonderful and awesome January!!!

Monday, January 16: (Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday) Schoolagers will have a movie day at school. They may bring movies and DS players.

Friday, January 20: (Teacher Workday) Schoolagers will be going bowling The cost is $6 for bowling and lunch.

Thanks!!

Aaron, Adria and Nick
