Daily Bible Verse

Matthew 5:43-45
“[Love for Enemies] “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”

Our Kelli Fours program....

Pre-K children learn about the world around them through play and observation. Your child will enjoy learning and growing through the many activities that we have to offer, such as:

  • Bible stories and Christian songs
  • Exploring their senses
  • Large outdoor playground
  • Dramatic Play
  • Sensory Art Projects
  • Literacy development with lots of age appropriate books
  • Colors/Shapes/Sizes
  • Play with Numbers
  • Music/Rhythm
  • Story Time
  • Language Development
  • Creative Movement/dance
  • Block Play
  • Manipulative toys to promote fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination

As a ministry of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church the Christian beliefs are an essential component in the care that we provide.  Beginning with our littlest lambs, we believe in teaching Christ’s love.  Our Pre-K’s read Bible stories, learn easy Christian songs, learn that blessings occur at every meal, and are taught about God’s beautiful creation in all that they see.

Learning how to interact with other children is a big part of each day for the children, but they are also busy discovering a lot more about themselves, too.  Our approach enables children to gain self-confidence and independence as they grow.  Our teachers plan activities that are designed to enhance your child’s growth and prepare him/her for the next stage of development.

We keep documented assessments on your child’s development.  We develop weekly lesson plans to introduce new activities and learning experiences.  The lesson plan is posted in the class room.

January News

Wow what a great month!

The children really enjoyed celebrating Jesus’s Birthday. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for all of the wonderful gifts. I am so appreciative and thankful.

Our themes for this month are: Review week, Winter Weather, Snowmen, and Winter Clothing.

We will focus on the letters M-P and the numbers 5-8. The week of January 9-13 we will be focusing on the letter M. We will be setting up McDonald’s in the housekeeping center and enjoying McDonald’s food. Each child will need to bring in $3.00 each to purchase a happy meal by January 11.

We will focus on the colors purple, green, blue, and gray.

We will focus on the shapes crescent, square, oval, and circle.

Our Bible stories for this month will be: Gideon, Samson, David and Goliath, and Psalm 23.

We welcome our new friends Lauryn and Olivia.

We are missing many classroom collages. Please bring in your family collage as soon as possible!

In February, I love to send the children’s handmade valentines to their grandparents.  I would like to begin collecting their addresses soon. Thank you.

We will begin reading bags again. They will go home on Monday and will need to be returned on Friday.

Our student of the month is Brent Strange.

Our family of the month is the family of Tasker Brett Johnston.
