As a ministry of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church the Christian beliefs are an essential component in the care that we provide. Beginning with our littlest lambs, we believe in teaching Christ’s love. Our Pre-K’s read Bible stories, learn easy Christian songs, learn that blessings occur at every meal, and are taught about God’s beautiful creation in all that they see.
Learning how to interact with other children is a big part of each day for the children, but they are also busy discovering a lot more about themselves, too. Our approach enables children to gain self-confidence and independence as they grow. Our teachers plan activities that are designed to enhance your child’s growth and prepare him/her for the next stage of development.
We keep documented assessments on your child’s development. We develop weekly lesson plans to introduce new activities and learning experiences. The lesson plan is posted in the class room. |
Wow we can't believe that it is already December! During December we will not be talking about a letter so that we can better focus on the reason for the season! We will talk about Jesus's birthday and all the Bible stories leading up to the birth of Jesus. We will also talk about Santa, candy canes, Christmas ornaments, and all kinds of Christmas activities. We will also be working on our secret parent present for you!! Dates to remember: December 7: bag lunch day. We will also sing for the senior citizens that have lunch that day. Wear Christmas colors! December 8: ORWS Christmas program. We will close at 5:00 that day. Your child needs to be back at school by 5:30 dressed in a white shirt and dark pants (jeans are okay). December 22: Class Christmas Party December 23 & 26: ORWS will be closed for Christmas
We hope all of you have a wonderful holiday season!
